Anybody out there ever tried one? I'm not really looking for the worlds best base antenna just one to put up on my garage to play around with that is not 20 feet tall.

Don't expect much with a 39 inch base antenna. I think as soon as you put this up you will be wanting something better. The Imax 2000 is a great antenna that will work great for around 89 bucks. The difference between the Workman and the 2000 will be night and day. To improve over the Imax you will have to go a lot higher in price. For the small price difference for the Imax IMHO it will be well worth it.

I don't really want a 20 footer, I just want one I can mount on my garage eve for when I am playing around with a radio on my bench. I realize that I will probably want a better one a some point, but at the moment I am just looking for something small. I was also thinking about putting a dipole in my garage rafters. I have heard of people doing it but have never really heard any ones opinions on how they work.
