Tinny Turner
I was told if I solder a 1uf capacitor in my Turner plus 3 mike it would remove the tinny sound. Any one know any thing about this?
Thanks much.

i soldered a small disc cap ,dont remember if it was a .005 or a 1, i soldered it across the = and - on the mic element (parallel) to bleed off the treble to ground, just like in an electric guitar tone control. i also wired a switch across as well, so i can turn it off and on. i did mine in a d104 unamplified. try a .05 or a 1 uf cap, different values will cut different amounts of treble.(tinny sound) be aware that this will cut down the output, (cuz you are cutting off the midrange and treble, and the bass stays the same volume.) also, try it across the mic element, then try doing across the the output after the amplifier in the mic if it has one. se which sounds better. 209

trucker, i agree they are great mics. some mics sound a lil different on different radios cuz they may have different input impedance, and this will affect the frequency resopnse. they are very clear. id say the bass monsters are the d 104 (cuz it has a 2 inch element, most are 1 or 1 1/2.) and the astatic 1104c.,or the mobile version, the 575 m6. on the bass setting they very robust. 209
