Help With Ticking Noise

#105668

Post by Drifter »

This just started. I've used it this way for months with no problem.

First I have an external echo box, Cobra 148 (new style), and one of those recordable noise toys.

With the noise toy switched on, but not using it, I get a ticking noise when I key up. What would cause that? It's driving me nuts. Everything sounds fine except it sounds like my radio has a heart beat when I key up. When I switch the toy off everything sounds fine. I switch it on in standby mode I get the ticking if I'm using it or not. Any ideas appreciated.

I have sold a couple dozen of those. I have found that a noise filter will help. (plf-10c)
I hope this helps.

PP1's are very susceptible to RF interference, try the filter like smiley said. Also make sure you are using good coax that is double shielded.

I run a PP1 inside my general lee that I have wired for a Key up, and I don't get this sound either, but I use good coax. (213)

Well it did it one day. Now it has just stopped on it's own, so I'm inclinded to leave it alone. Weird.
