In need of a good rotor
In need of a good rotor
Hey i got question? What is the best or econimcal priced rotor to buy for a 7 element maco antenna which wil be attached to some lmr 400 db
Much of the answer to your question is how you plan on supporting the antenna. If it's inside a tower, you should be able to get away with a Ham II, CD-44, or even an old Alliance HD-73 (which is what I use). If you plan on using a tubular tower such as the US Tower, or some other outside of the tower set up with the bottom clamp assembly you'll indeed need a decent sized rotor. The rated wind load capability on rotors is cut in half outside of a tower.
That being said, you can usually pick up a decent used one on ebay reasonably priced.

First I want to thank you all for your replies and to the ones that viewed my question.I will be setting up this antenna on a 50 ft crank up and the rotor will be mounted on the out side. I also will have the tilt feature too. So if a storm (hurricane) blows i can get out of harms way. Any way i hope to find a tailtwister and i think i have. So again thanks fo the replies and looks. If you are looking for a rotor, Worldwide Amplifiers sells reconditioned Ham IV and Tail Twisters for very reasonable prices.Dirty Red wrote:Hey i got question? What is the best or econimcal priced rotor to buy for a 7 element maco antenna which wil be attached to some lmr 400 db
