Anybody know anything about this amp? I keep going to my parents and keep finding goodies I forgot about years ago when I quit talking. I found an antron and now just saw this amp. I am bummed as yesterday I learned the little amp I am looking for my dad gave to my uncle.

What does it do for watts and is it worth anything? I remember using it once and the tubes lit up but I knew nothing about it and didn't want to damage it. Looking at it now the load knob is busted off and I'm gonna guess one of the tubes isn't original as it has a little point on it that protrudes outside the case. Anybody know anything more about these?

I had an amp similar to this long ago, I think it was an XL100. Small, blue cover, silver face, with a preamp? Varmint was a popular base amp brand long ago along with Maco and of course Palomar. My little varmint did about 100 watts and you only want to put a few watts into them. They are a good clean route to go for a little extra at the house. I don't know what they use for tubes, maybe sweep tubes. If you plan on running and keeping it, start looking for extra ones. The bad boy was the varmint xl1000. That was a TV killing machine!! -drdx
