Alright guys, as many of you know I bought a new truck in June.
Now I have pulled all my radios out of the Silverado and now I'm looking for in put on where to install the new radios.

The antennas will be hard mounted in/on the roof.

But as far as the radios are concerned, I will be my RCI 2950 and my Icom IC229H and coming soon my Icom 706MKIIG or 7000.

The truck is a 2005 Dodge Ram HD automatic.

I know some of you guys have one or have had on and I would like some pics, ideas, and input.

I plan on installing the radio next weekend so if any of you Texas boys want to join, I will welcome the company.

Couple things...

Check out "Big Bob" on CumminsForum, he has custom mounts for our trucks...if you can't find him, PM me and I'll look him up for you.

I mounted my Connex 4600 on the driver's side of the center hump (manual trans), but if I had an auto, I would have mounted it to the knee panel under the FM.

I ran the Coax through a small knock-out plug under the driver's seat...then I took a rat-tail file and "cut" a groove in the plug...insert the wire, reinstall the plug with the coax in the groove, and silicone for water....but that was for a mag-mount 5000. I ran the power leads through the grommet in the firewall...it is a "double walled" grommet, so you need to cut bought the inner and outer walls...

I'm going to be installing a hard mount for the 5000 in the next couple weeks...so, the wires will be in the headliner.

Hey, are you talking the week of 10/29? I'm off and may venture that way if I finish this bathroom tiling. I'll bring some braid or something as a truck warming gift. -drdx
