ok, i know we radio guys dont use acid core solder but, i got standard 60/40 rosin core solder and lead free silver bearing solder. which one is used for circut boards and which one do you use on-- pl-239 plugs, quick disconects, microphone plugs. im confused.

Busman, I used the silver bearing/ lead free rosin core for all of my main power connections.

That's what we use on all of our main power distribution connections on the aircraft.

ya ok thanks, i got some lead free 94/4 silverbearing solder. it dont say nothing about no rosin core but i suppose it is . i got it at rat shack. i got some of the standard, 60/40 rosin core solder to. didnt know what kind. so would a guy use the silver bearing solder for mic plugs and such. ????

I would use it for the plugs to.

hey 3 toe, i went to the stereo store yestuday to look for some kind of big fuse block holder to put inline for my dave made 2 by 4 and they said they all goin to a cicut breaker thing . it looks just like that picture you showed me of the solder job. pretty cool set fo sure. all i had was those kind that used the overgrown lookin glass type fuse and i could only find up to a sixty amp fuse around here. i did find a 80 amp layin arouund. i ended up bying a nice lookin fuse block set up that takes those blade like fuses. its called a stinger pro custom. got gold plated on the blocks. this thing retailed for like 149$ or more. the dude said well that ones been on the rack there and the packageing is getting faded. ill let ya have it for 39 $. right on. this thing looks great,is built like a tank and you can get up to 400 amp fuses for it.
