hi, do rotors ever freeze up in the winter ? i mean like get stuck because of the ice. i am guessing it has enough torque to break the ice? i have a yaesu g-800sa. i had an idea to put a plastic bag around the mast draped like a skirt over the rotor so the ice wont get attached to the housing. any winterization tips for beams/rotats appreciated. 209
2zero9 workin this top secret station in massachusetts.
THAT IS GREAT TO HEAR I WILL PUTTING A BEAM IN THE AIR SOMETIME NEXT YEAR SO WHEN THE ICE COMES I WONT BE AS WORRIED. I HAVE SEEN BEAMS BROKEN DOWN WITH ICE IT AIN'T PRETTY.

It's not PAM the cooking oil spray it's the Teflon spray used to recoat the
original Teflon coating used on pots and pans if it's scratched or nicked.
Do you know the difference?
Night Crawler wrote:But wouldn't pam wear off due to the weather if it washes off when you clean
your pots and pans. Teflon would be a little more permanent.
ya not as much as one would think. rian is cold not hot like dish water. i use it on my familys cabins roof to help with the snow
What 468 said works for me here in Alaska, spray on Pam also (Thumpers hungry for Spam) lol, helps keep the snow and ice from sticking to the beams and sat. dishes. On the nice sunny days when everythings melted away i go out and respray everything.
