I NEED HELP I BOUGHT A KLV 1000/P AND I DONT KNOW HOW TO OPERATE IT. I HAVE NEVER USED TUBES BE FOR SO I NEED DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO TUNE IT. ALLSO IT IS 60-70 WATTS DRIVE IS THIS DEAD KEY OR SWING.

THANKS FOR THE LINK. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM SOME PEOPLE WHO OWN ONE TO SEE HOW MUCH WATTAGE THAY PUT INTO IT. I WAS THINKING YOU COULD PUT 50 DK AND BIG SWING I WANT TO GET THE BEST OUT OF IT BUT I DONT WANT TO BLOW IT UP. THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP THIS IS A GREAT FORUM.

I have a KLV1000 but not the high drive, so I'm not the most help, but assuming I can put a low deadkey in mine, and let it swing, I don't see why the high drive would be any different.

Pretty much all there is to it, is to start all your knobs at 12 o'clock. Adjust Drive(input on yours), Load, and then Tune for max wattage on an external watt meter. That's about it. I leave my on, and on standby at all times to keep the tubes warm.

please tune it to the max,butload it just under the max,in other words when you load it load it so that the transmite light gets bright enough when you modulate,thats the way to do it.50 to 60 swing watts max.
