dx antenna only????

beam.....remember....rotor size matters....what size rotor do you have.....and what dollars are you wanting to spend

Sirio SY27-4 4 Element Beams are good....small rotor

it isn't the brand .....it is the gain.......

ps...if you do get a horiz beam....you can put a antron etc above it

another low buck low maintenance antenna with great results is a Maco V quad based on a delta loop design will talk DX with the 3 & 4 element antennas set it flat side. also the 4 element Sirio is another good choice. you don't need a monster beam to talk DX i have tried a lot of antennas and highly recommend the Maco V quad. using a 6 element quad now. but with the Maco V quad you can mount it on a push up pole or strap it to you chimney ands use a low cost rotor like you use for a TV antenna. also if you want you can stack them and still use the same rotor chimney or push up pole and they Talk DX great.

Love my moonraker 4!

Any antenna with dual polarity rocks.

Run vertical local, then switch to horizontal to talk to DX land.

I have a Imax 2k, and a Maco 5/8 setup, and I don't use either of them. I just run the beam. I'm taking the verticals down as soon as the weather breaks and setting one up at my office, and selling the other.

whats the budget? antron and a few masts and mounts for the house= approx 130$. you can get a small beam for 150$, but to support it and turn it adds another manymany hundreds of dollars for tower.rotor.cable ect. i would go with the maco v 5/8, it outperforms the anntron for about 20$ more.(i have both) has a lower angle of radiation, better for skip. 209

I got an m105c for sell cheap :) On the flat side it's a pretty mean beam.. I think overall the best compromise.. Almost the same gain, but much smaller, much easier to turn than the larger beams and not that much less gain. I'm going with a set of lasers, which is technically overloading my rohn 25g.. but we'll see :)

Hi promises here i recommend a 4 element Macao,on flt side has less wind Resistance for talking skip, will eliminate a lot of noise and for talking long distance they work great, you dint need it up to high about 25 feet works fine, you wont gain very much at all going for more elements your biggist gain about 14.5 comes with the 4 element, from there theres not that much more gain to make it worth all the extra trouble for rotors, towers etc to make it worth it,anyway have fun......
