Always on or on and off? A Poll
Do you power on and off your equipment or do you leave it up and running 24/7?
Personally I leave the power supplies on 24/7 and power off just the radios at night--they stay on from the time I wake up till bed time even if I'm not actually sitting here at my desk.
What say you?

You don't have the option, so I'll tell ya how I do it.
Being a tube amp user, I leave my tube amp on 24/7. I never turn it off, that way it's always good to go. It's just sitting there waiting on me to hit that Ready/Standby switch. My power supply stays on, b/c it's behind my desk and I don't want to dig for it. My radio gets turned off and coax is removed from my whole system coming from the antennas everytime I leave the house, or go to bed.

My Astron-35 has been on for two years. Never a problem. My radio equipment is off until I need it.

My equipment stays powered up 24/7. When I took a computer course we were taught that it is the initial power surge when you first turn your equipment on that will do the most damage. So, I apply the same logic to my radio equipment. Now, if they would only incorporate a "sleep" mode into radios so they would consume less power when sitting idle... ![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon/wink.gif)
