SWR's
BIGHOG waving hand. Well the bug bit me good. I have always had little radios. My SWP GL came in this week. Have not been doing a lot of talking yet. The Holidays have kept me busy. I will get some pics of the install soon. I still have plans to start grounding like crazy. As of now I have 1.3 across the board after the box. What is the method of checking SWR's on all the bands A,B,C, ect. I have done all my tunig on D. Don't really see myself using any of the others, but I want to know that they are good to go. I noticed that A had a lot higher readings than D. Let the education begin

swr should be good for a little above band d and a little below band d. nobody on band b anyhow. you start to get to far out of the relm of the cb band. if you did nothing but talk on band b then you would tune your antenna for that freq. but aint nobody on it anyway so why bother. tune it so the swr is pretty close to even on cb channel ( d band on your lee ) 1 and 40 and then youll be good for a little above and below that band.

Thank's Busman, and ww228kidd. I am also in the market for an upgrade from the Palomar. I have been doing some looking around. But all of the talk of the different pills gets confusing. 1 driving 2, 4 driving.......... I know that this is a matter of opinion. And with opinions comes information.. I am wanting to learn, so fire away. RA set the dead key to run the Palomar right now. I believe I was told the DK was around1w.
