I bought a used tr696fssb the radio dk at about 6-8 watts and then swings backward when you modulate to less then 4 watts. What up with that? Is there anything i can do to make it swing the right way?

I had a similar problem a while back with a radio I picked up. I lowered my DK and turned down the modulation and it cleared it right up...

I do agree with 22-0.

Keep in mind this radio will not be a power house...it's a CB radio and not an Amateur radio.

If you're not confident on how to lower the deadkey, someone could either walk you through it, or you could find a good local CB shop or one of our sponsors to do it. I'd go through and peak/tune it if you take it to a CB shop.

We see this all the time. Some tech out there has no business trying to peak and tune a SSB radio. We wonder if it is more than one person responsible for trying to peak and tune these radios like a regular Cobra 29. That radio should swing up to 20 watts easily.

Is there anything i can do with it? My local radio shop doesn't want to mess with it they don't know much about Texas Rangers. And i don't know much about the inside of a radio.I'm trying to learn. Know of any good shops near PA that can get this Texas Ranger working good? Thanks for all help!
