I have the DM -200 out in the truck with the 99v and 102" whip. I want to bring it inside my trailer at work. I am unable to get to town right now and get a power supply. But I just happen to have a deep cycle battery and 15 amp battery charger in the back of my truck that is out of the boat.
I'm guessing you know where I'm going with this....
Can I use that and expect to get any key-down time out of the battery?
Bringing in the DM-200 need power supply
Went searching found my own answer

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this idea, The battery will filter out all of the hum from a charger even though the charger has no filtering, I have done this many times and it works fine. This also works great for running smaller solid state amps when you don't have the proper power supply, sure you have to ease up to let the battery charge catch back up from time to time but it will work fine. You can also gain more amps from a power supply by running a battery with it, the battery can handle the amp draw while the power supply by itself can't. I learned all these things when I was a kid cb,ing 34 years ago and couldn't afford big power supplys, but my dad had spare batteries and battery chargers and I put them to use.
