Large extrnal signal meter?

#137610

Post by Roughneck424 »

With my base setup here in my office with two phones , nextel 2 way , email , squawk box and people in & out. I need a large external signal meter so I can keep volume down and then when I see the meter jumping I can tell people to get out
Is there such a thing?

How big are you talking? I don't think there's a plug and play unit on the market but almost all radios use a 500uA Meter movement so any meter with that sensitivity can be used. This is a meter that is designed for a ham radio but can be wired into any radio that uses the 500uA movement.

Another good choice would be the MFJ-267. It has a 3 inch dial, reads average (rms) and true (active) PEP up to 3000 Watts forward and 600 Watts reflected in the 1.8-54 MHz range.

OPPS...you said signal meter, not watt meter...never mind...
