I have been asking that question for at least three years and have not yet to find one person using that antenna.Sure would like to hear how that Jo Gunn works.Alot of money to put out for that if it doesnt work good.Let me know if you find any info on it.

Compare it to a I10K??? What about vertical 26' vs max2000 24' is better than a .64??Does radiation take off angle shoot the signal to the moon
making DX distance shorter than max2000???

I have one of my good friends that uses a 3 element Jo-Gunn. His sound is great as well as his signal. Now, most of the time I'm talking to him, he's at home and so am I. So, of course it sounds great on my Moonraker when he's only 10 miles away, lol.

I would like to know what the real gain values are on a Jo-Gunn. I really have nothing to gauge his on b/c he only runs the beam and doesn't have an auxillary vertical like I do.

In all the years I have herd alot of people that were happy with their Beams but never herd anything about their Ground Planes.I know the Son Of A Gun is about $300.00 and sure would like to hear from somebody that uses one.The Audio DB gain they use is crazy just some kind of made up Gain.

Go with the interceptor heard lots of good about them.

I was interested too in a joe gunn beam but couldn't find anyone with experience to give any info, & there db gain they claim is way out there!

It's funny, because many of us have questioned the "audio gain" nonsense for a long time. Nobody I know has ever given any real information about what that really means...only guesses. That should tell you something right there. I've never talked to anyone who has run one of these beams (yet) either. I've seen them on ebay alot but again...why so many? Your guess is as good as mine.

And it's most likely to be a 1/2 wave...not 5/8 or .64. Most yagi designs are anyway.

I used a "Son of a gunn" about 17 years ago..and
did not have a good experience. At the time they
were covering their antenna's with Teflon and they
would give great swr's but poor performance. Now
they don't do that anymore, so I can't comment about
recent antennas.

I heard they are 3/4 wave. I know a guy that has one, and he loves it. I have the Interceptor 10K, and wouldn't trade it for anything.
