Old Cobra

I just installed a older cobra in my buddies truck. I'm looking to peak and tune it for him any good sights you could send me to? The CB looks like a mix between a cobra 18 and a 19 but it only has 3 weather channels. There are no markings on the radio other than the name cobra.

I sent Al @ Sparkys my old cobra 25 that was not working, he sent it back repaired and tuned and sounding crystal clear. Give him a call and hell tell you how to handle it..I am not sure a cobra 19 is worth sending out for a tune. Sparkys has many inexpensive cobras & Unidens all of the come tuned up and ready to use, Might be worth looking into.

I am still looking to do a little tuning myself on the radio he can't afford the upgrade yet. I found the model # 18 WX ST.

I agree! Take it from the anti-18wxst crew, that radio is garbage.

Ask JesseJamesDallas what he thinks too, lol. I think he had about as much sucess with a 18wxst as I did.

That radio would be good to put in a mini-van to monitor traffic on your family vacation, and that's about it.

For all the good info.I have convinced him to at least go to Walmart and get a cobra 29 classic. I'm glad I have layed all the ground work all I will have to do is swap out the radios.

Save your money!!!

Don't buy a radio from walmart!, It will still have to be peaked/tuned and a decent noise canceling mic to go with it, Call Al @ sparkys for a couple of dollars more He will send you a peaked tuned Cobra 29 and it will sound sweet.

Got to jump on that wagon... Don't waist the $$$ on that radio.. For the extra cash you could just get a Cobra 25, Uniden 68, or something..
