They are great radios! I recently dug mine out of the closet and have talked on it several times since. I'm using a Turner plus 3B mic and everyone tells me it has fantastic audio quality. The receive on it is great also. The Mark IX is AM only, so if you want SSB keep your eye out for the Mark X.

I too have a Mark IX. TX audio is great.

Power mic not need, but astatic made a D-104 with "dak" logo on the base.

This radio is huge 19" w x 9.5" h x 11.5" d.

Speaker is on the right side.

I also have one.Mine needs a channel selector.I can get it on the channel i want but have to play with it a little bit.I also need new tubes. My wattage is kinda down. Its doin 3 key and swings to about 12.I had one years ago that keyed 5 and swung 30.Even though i need tubes it still has really good sounding audio and i do use it from time to time.Ill get around to fixing it one day.

Right now I'm seeing a 3 watt DK and 8 watts PEP, but (as far as I know) the radio has never been "tweaked" and it could stand a retube. They are a hybrid of sorts - they are both transistor and tube - the audio section being tube...

Reddog335: I had to do a double take...lol...that is the same Turner mic that came with my radio when I purchased it years ago. I wish I could find the "Dak" D104 at a reasonable price. 926bolo is a lucky dog to have one... :)

Great radios but not power houses. Can be very hard to find parts for and are very large and kinda heavy.
