man, all you guys getting straight 8 base amps. i feel lame with my little straight 4 pill fat boy base. :D my neighbors would lynch me anyway. :D

Shoot busman, 4X2879 on a base kicks some serious butt! It takes a ton of mobile watts to squish a system doing those watts from a base antenna. I gotta say though, I have been looking at six. I guess I got the fever.

well neighbor to the north, the 4 pill fat boy base i got inline has the sd 1446 pills. its rated at 600 watts. about 40 watt swing into it with the variable open up it will do 700 watts. i run it at 500 watts. the east coast 4 pill i got has the 2879 pills. it will take more juice but im dont use it cause i got real close neighbors.

I am still looking at those but would really like something with tubes and AB biasing. The Ameritrons are starting to interest me now. Will start another thread.

Hey Busman I got that same base amp don't see no more than 500 on my meter wide open. Only time I see 6 is when I go up one band on my Connex 3300HP. It's doing 35 watts!!!
