Different components in newer versus older RCI-2995DX

#158582

Post by nepaaircomms »

I have both a newer and older RCI-2995DX and was hoping someone could help me with a question. I took the external off of the back of my older 2995dx and when I did there were two round metal things with some white residue (maybe sealer) screwed into the back of the radio. When I went to put the external fan onto my newer 2995dx I noticed that the two metal things were not mounted onto the back of the newer radio. Now there is holes to mount the metal things, but they are not there. I was hoping someone could help me figure out what those two metal things are, and if they should be on my newer radio. Thanks.

The transistors are now on the inside of the radio, and the newer versions of the 2995dx use a SMT board...
