Hey guys quick ? We had some bad weather tonight and when my wipers are on High I can hear the noise in my radio . only high no other wiper setting. Could this be the ground ? I got it straight to the chassis and dont having other noise coming in . I'm thinking of just letting it be because I seldom run the wipers on high but its got me curious.
Thanks
Hmmmm, Wiper motor is a Electric motor which is known to create noise in electronic circuits. Are you hooked strait to the battery or going through an internal circuit like through the fuse panel ? Try hooking up to the battery direct ( Pos and neg ) and maybe grounding you radio case to the body.
join the club i get it to am my radio is wired to the battery. It may be from the antenna is your antenna close to your engine?if so try moving it near the bumper or it could be a cheap antenna like a firestick.
I've done everything i know to do,and still get the charging system whine!Power windows comes in on it,grounded everything battery, alt chassis, radio chassis to car chassis, amp to car chassis,Pos to battery in line filter and still got it!
Does the noise go away when you unplug the antenna? It does for me. I don't know any way to get the antenna to stop picking up all those noises. I'm running a wilson 5000.

I think that it's an issue with the antenna not grounding well through the magnet mount. Just a guess, but I'm willing to bet that if you stand on the ground and hold the wilson in your hand, the noise will be gone. One of us will have to try it..... too cold here for me to bother today though.

I am of the opinion that if you need to run windshield wipers on high, its prolly time to PULL OVER!!!!! LOL! (JK! I know we got to do what we got to do!) I run a Wilson 1000 mag, on the roof of a 96 Blazer, straight to the battery. Only noise I ever get is when I use the power windows. Not sure why since the motors for the windows are farther away from the antenna & coax than the wiper or fan motors. They say to avoid running the coax close to wiring, but hell, in today's vehicles about the only way to do that is to set the entire rig out on the sidewalk & drive away! Guess we got to put up with some noise sometimes!

There are such things as ferritte beads or snap chokes that can be put on hot wires...I'm not real versed on these, maybe someone with a little more expertise will chime in.
I sell these little "hard to find" clamp-on Ferrite EMI-RFI Noise Suppressors for $3.00 per/pcs.... This eliminates all noise even down to windshield wiper noise... Here is a link where you guys can read up more on these simple little noise chokes, and where to use them...

Feel free to PM me if anyone would like to purchase some, I have literally hundreds of them...
