New Toys on the way

#168825

Post by hobbz »

Just put up my Maco 103c on a rotor on my 30' of tower. I had to cut 3 trees down so the beam would fit. I also ordered a Galaxy 2517 and a Silver Salute. I like my Icom, but for CB, you just can't beat a radio made for it. The Icom had a modulator limiter that backs the power down when it thinks you are modulating to much. I can't get above a 3 on a guy about 30 miles away using my "power supply"

Pics sometime this week when the radio comes in from GI Joes.

i am talking good right now, but can't hear. i guy over 60 miles away said i was coming in good, but i can't hear anyone. my antenna is dead even with a power line about 30-40 feet away so i am getting major static now. I think I am gonna have to lower the tower back to 20 feet to get rid of the static

Very nice. i am green with envy :D
Instead of lowering, could you raise it another 10' or so?

With it horizontal like in the pic, you won't hear much locally. Does well for longer distances and skip in that position.
