i wanted to know if belden rg8x mini coax is good for a 100' base run????????????

Personally I would prefer 213 instead but if you are not running "fire wire" then it should be fine.

I think he was going for fire in the wire.....AKA amp....Kicker...heat.....I run belden rg8x mini on my base.....100Ft and i run max 500 watts out of it.....No problems at all..

BTW, for 100', you might consider LMR coax also.

I agree...you'd be much better off with RG213 (or better) at 100' (+). The loss on RG8x (even Beldon) is pretty high. It's somewhere in the neighborhood of an S-unit difference on both RX/TX for 11m...or rather, was for me.

213, that's not bad. I think it averages between 1 and 3 s-units of loss @ 100'!
