I just got a new SWP General Lee from Mike at Radio Active Radios yesterday. This thing is un-believable, talk about LOUD, and the super receive is awesome. The blue lights are cool too.

Thank You Mike

General Lee / 3300HP is a great radio. I heartily endorse it, regardless of who tweaks it, but have heard that the guys at RA do a nice job with the SWP.

I'm curious.....tell me more. How far are you receiving and what antenna are you using? Can you hear your own voice using talk back? Thanks....

mosnoman, right now I'm using a 102" whip mounted in the center of my toolbox lid. I really don't know how far it's receiving, but I was listening to a couple of truckers about 18 miles away from my house last night. This morning I was talking to a friend at 10 miles, and he was amazed at the sound and clarity. Said it was really loud. Yes, when the talkback is on I can hear myself, I used it to get the echo where I wanted it then turned it off. I like myself, but not enough to listen to my own voice all the time :D.

People seem to like them and they are a good-looking & sounding radio. They are a nicely finished version of the Connex 3300HP and we all know how well-like those are. A little pricey compared to the Connex (I think). They say that front mic plug is a real improvement and I can imagine why. Did they give you a good warranty (where you purchased it)?... as the manufacturer doesn't offer a warranty/customer service/tech support. Pretty popular radio and nice lookin'

I've never had a General Lee, but about a year ago on here, EVERYONE was getting them and loved them. I hear good things about their receive as well. I may have to get one just to see what all this hype is about. -drdx

I like my General Lee which is the same thing. I had a variable added to mine so I can adjust the key from 0-10 watts.
The radio is fairly loud without the echo but with the echo/reverb it is awesome. 8)

I have had my GL since last June. It is an AWESOME radio! I have it hooked up to a Little Wil and I have talked from Florida to Ontario (barefoot) when skip is rolling. When skip was not rolling, I talked to a guy last Friday that was 35 miles away! He said I was barley moving his needle, but he was able to hear me. I could hear him about the same.

Mine came from RA and he warranties the SWP/R for life! It is definitely worth every penny that I paid for it!!! :D
