You'll be happy with it. I was happy with mine too, but as with any hobby, there's always room to upgrade, lol.

Those are some great antennas, and you're off to a great start.

I would put it up high enough so that neighbor of yours can't get ahold of it again, just in case you start tearing up any of his TVs or AM/FM radios! Then I guarantee he would drop it for sure!

I really like my I-max but I am considering a Ground Plane kit for mine because my buddy has a Antron 99 with/GP and seems to get better receive and my antenna is higher and has a better gain. I was thinking the only thing he has on me is the GP kit so I figured I would try one on my I-max.
Good luck and have fun with that BASE!

Your swr will be through the ROOF if you don't use all 3 pieces!!! It is engineered to be a complete antenna! If you only use 2 pieces, say goodbye to your final output transistors. ASSEMBLE THAT SON OF A GUN WITH ALL 3 PIECES!!

Ah, so if he only puts two pieces together for his neighbor to hold it up to take a picture, it'll blow his radio even when it's not up on the mast or hooked up to the radio.

MISTMAN250 let us know if that ground plane kit helps. I did not get the ground plane kit because from what i read it will not make a big difference. I will be putting all 3 pieces when I put on the mast the two pieces was just for the picture.

That's what I thought when I assembled mine yesterday. Laying in the yard, that thing is big.

I (temporarily) attatched it to a post and hooked it up. SWR is almost 1:1 across the band, gets out and receives better than my dipole, and it looks cool  .

So far, I like it. I would recommend one to anyone looking for an inexpensive omni.

There would be a vacancy in the hood if one of my neighbors "laid it down" .. that's a nice piece of equipment there, yup yup.

Hey F250 - when I first put my Imax up I didn't put the GPK on it. I had a little trouble with bleedover, and turned on my daughter's night light every time I keyed up. Put the GPK on it and eliminated the bleedover and turning on the light - PLUS it lowered my noise floor by 2db - a big help when you're trying to communicate with those weaker DX stations. The GPK definitely helped the receive in my particular situation.
