stealth install on a 96 KW W900L questions
dont want alot of wires running around so i figured i would hard wire the contact posts on the dash to the battery with 8g wire would this be a good idea. could i wire it to the jumper posts under the hood if i couldnt get my hands in the dahs to rewire the posts?
gonna be adding a 4600T w/ SWP for RAR and want to do it right the first time.
also on the 29 i have in now once and awhile ill have to crank the squelch clockwise cause ill get alot of "noise" like just driving around it will be at 3 on the top of the meter (in the red) but no one is keyed up or talking. what would it be? just interference from something out there?

Rewiring the factory contact posts in a big truck is not that hard of a deal. Just run the wire to it from battery (both +/-) and fuse both close to the battery. 6ga wire would work great with a 30 amp fuse in line. With the Connex 4600T you really need to make sure your swr is right, so maybe up grading the coax at the same time would be a good idea too, routing it through the dash while your in there.kilog55 wrote:dont want alot of wires running around so i figured i would hard wire the contact posts on the dash to the battery with 8g wire would this be a good idea. could i wire it to the jumper posts under the hood if i couldnt get my hands in the dahs to rewire the posts
