Power cord

The power cord for my cobra 29 is to short do i
A. add more wire to it if so what gage is it?
or
B. can i buy a longer power cord

Here is the one I use. It is 6 feet long and heavier gauge wire than original.

You can easily extend the original power cord if you have some basic electrical tools. Wal-Mart has rolls of 12 ga, 14 ga, & 16 ga wire for about $3 a roll. You will also need butt connectors in the size to fit the wire you select and a crimping tool to install them. If you don't want to buy the wire & tools or the longer heavy duty power cord, you can send your original power cord to me, tell me how much longer you need it, and I will extend it for you and send it back to you at no charge.

can i run a larger gage in to a smaller gage wire?

Yes. That is normally done when you make an extended run. I am now offline for 10 hours.
