well, ive decided to dust off my old Hallicrafters receiver, anybody know of a good place to get tubes for her???

and please nothing online such as Ebay or any other online stores, i rather buy them in person, here is a list of tubes that go in her;

8 Tubes total;
* 6SG7 (RF amplifier);
* 6SA7(converter);
* 6SK7(1st & 2nd IF amplifiers);
* 6H6 (detector/AVC/ANL);
* 6SC7 (audio amplifier/BFO);
* 6K6GT (audio output);
* 5Y3GT (rectifier)

If they cant find the tubes you need then ask them to give you the number to Rays electronics ( elkin CB shop ) i guarantee that he can!

Do you have access to a GOOD tube tester? If not, get with some one that has one to help you test them. Ask that over the air, most of old time radio collector will have one. .

Tubes don't just go bad sitting around, it's a meth, chances are they are still good. You may remove, clean the contact, glass then replace. Let the radio warm up (tubes included) for at least 1/2 before you key up.
There is a greater chance other components to go bad, dried out cap etc than the tubes.

PM me if you can't find any one test the tubes for you.
