Good day, got a used 2517dx it performs okay...
Gonna take to my local tech for a aling/ tune and get modulation to 95-100 percent (no clipping).
Get the recv done to cut down on some of the white noise.
Any other ideas for this base sta?

To me it sounds as though you have it covered pretty good. I have the same radio and thats whats done to mine and it preforms great! I have a Silver Eagle on it with a Maco 5/8 ground plane. Does a pretty good job. Have fun with yours.
