Look at a mosley, I think they make an 11 meter one, and they are build well. That, or get a cushcraft for 12 or 15 meters and size it to the band. Performance wise, the math that goes into it will be the determining factor regardless of brand, but the quality varies.
I just found this:

Or.......how about a gismotchi? They are expandable.

If you can find one at a good price and have a big enough antenna rotor to turn it then i would go with a moonraker 4. They are hard to beat!

Ditto. I just took one down not long ago, and it's a superb CB beam. They're hard to beat, and when I sold mine, I sold it for $100 more than I bought it for! Which I knew it was worth it, b/c it was used but in NEW condition. Most of them are old from sitting outside and in weak shape. You can always get a Maco Shooting Star, which is the Moonraker 4 knock off, and works just as good as the MR4.

There's other beams out there of popularity too like the Signal Engineering and the Jo-Gunn's. The Signal Engineering seem overpriced, but have EXCELLENT customer service. As far as the Jo-Gunns, I have a friend that ran a set for years and they worked great. They sound great on DX land too, and they are built like I tank, but I have a problem with them because of their rediculous gain claims on their website. Other than that, it's a good antenna too, but get ready to shell out the big bucks.

There's a small company called Sirio that is making little 3 element and 4 element beams for around $100, but I haven't heard anything good or bad about them.

Hi 305, well just to I want Beam well its like saying I want a Pick up truck.

Things to think about

a) how much am I willing to spend.
b) how much room do I have
c) tower no tower are you in the farmland going (from your photo) is it fairly flat.
d) what are you expecting from a beam have you run one before?
e) are you going to **Censored** off some neighbor with something large.

If you could ansewer some of these questions it would help members to make some suggestions.

I am also considering a beam since there are no ground plane antennas that will talk as far as a beam....I could be wrong?
A-$500 but that includes rotar and controller.
B-Plenty
C-40'tower.Flat to gently rolling.I am on top of a small hill.
D-Hoping to get more range in a certain direction.I have never ran one.
E-2 neighbors about 1/4 and 3/4 miles away and I live at least 1/4 mile off the section line so I doubt they would care.
