not bad man, way to go on make your own i did the same almost used the same stuff too but went with aluminum and then painted it black looks custom

Thanks guys. I was gonna use aluminum but its too expensive for me.

I did the same thing on my first radio.

Used aluminum angle iron. It worked.

If you want more stability make you a cross shape on the bottom of the mount so it's a 4-point mount.

looks kind of like what i did with dads radio...but i used 2 old mounting brackets so it set up high enough to read while driving...

simple...functional....that is all that matters..

Thanks for the comments guys and NO the Crown Bag is only for change. That was gone back in my wild and wooly days. Dont do that anymore got a wife and a 7 month old to take care of these days. I like it alot better.
