antennas

hey im kinda new to this and i was wonderin what kinda antenna i should use? i want to know if dual antennas are better than one or if you have duals how far apart do they have to be? also setting up the swr?
Any info would be great.....

Id say get a preadtor 10k, or a 102" whip or maybe a wilson 5000

Some would argue the benefits of a dual system, but I bet you wouldn't hear many arguments about setting the SWR on duals. PAINFULL!! I agree with the 10K or Wilsons.

Agreed on the Predator, Wilson 5000, or 102" whip. I just built a base antenna with 2 102" whips.

Don't bother with dual antennas. One antenna mounted smack dab in the middle of the cab... hey I rhymed... will give you great coverage 360 degrees around. If you were to take another antenna, EVEN IF IT'S NOT HOOKED UP and mount it about 100" or so from the other, you'd experience the signal actually reflecting off the other element, and that would screw it up. I learned that one.

I agree, I have run duel antennas before but ........... never had much luck with um.

But........ they sure looked good on my truck !
