I bought one from Sparky about 6 months ago, nice little base radio. With the power all the way up it will DK 10w and swing to about 20w. the recieve is not as good as my RCI radios though. The mofset failed about a month after I bought it, Galaxy repaired it under warranty, they where very easy to work with. It has SSB so it fits my needs, I only use it occasionaly as it is my back-up radio.

I'm gonna answer your question as honestly as I can, considering your past..."probably not". If I remember correctly, you had some galaxy 949s at one time and they didn't seem to work out for you. The 2547 is the exact same radio internally as the 949/959 radios...with a power supply on board. I'm not saying it's a bad radio, because I it's not. I personally like the 959s and such...just thought you may want to know before you spend your hard-earned cash! :)
