Cobra 142 GTL
I just picked up a Cobra 142 today.
It has had some of the extra channels put into it. The guy gave me this sheet that has the frequency's on it but it also says this.
5KC Drop= The CB&PA Switch in the PA position. Which is what I don't understand.
The same sheet has this also on it.
Three Position ANL/NB Switch
So according to the sheet when the ANL/NB switch is in the Middle position its the regular CB frequency's
So if the ANL/NB switch gives you your extra channels according to the position its in, what does the CB&PA switch really do.
Any ideas?

RE Cobra 142 GTL
That sounds like a lame mod. Honestly, a 5 KC drop switch is useless since most clarifier mods out there will allow you to slide +/- 5 to 6 KCs. All the Cobra 142s I have ever owned did the clarifier mod as described and usually, the NB/ANL switch was converted to a +/- 10KHz switch to give you the "alpha" channels. I don't remember what the rest of the mod was though,MacGyver wrote:I just picked up a Cobra 142 today.
