Settin up a gate station
Settin up a gate station
I downladed a program called audacity to start recording gates with through my computer. Is there any way to run a piece from the cb to the computer? I have talkback, so my sweet voice would still be heard too lol.
Does anyone know how to make this work?

Go to rat shack and get an audio cable with the 1/8 headphone hacks on each end.
ne end goes to the ext speaker port on radio, other to mic or line in on sound card.
Only turn the volume on the base to min or it will overload the input on the computer and cause distortion.
You may have to mess with your levels on the pc to get a good sound.
I like to use a small mixer between the cb and the pc. Just helps with audio clarity. Look at you local pawn shop.

Thanks guys. I just thought it was a cool idea, and since I keep my laptop in the truck with me when i'm waiting for skip to roll in, and talk a little while i'm readin the mail, why not make better gates than the ones I make with my digital cameraringer wrote:that's exactly right.MoJo wrote:Go to rat shack and get an audio cable with the 1/8 headphone hacks on each end.
