rat shack does carry them but they are in the back. Tell them you know they have them, some employees are too lazy to go look.

One of our members has a nice magnet mount in the for sale area...

Otherwise, I know that several of our sponsors carry them.

I would also pick up a spring at radio shack designed for installing the 102 whip, so that you can already have it for tuning.

A full 1/4 wave is 108 inches, however some trucks will tune better at 102, so play around alittle, and figure out what works best for your setup 8)

Junkie, we're on the side

Did you get it yet? Best thing I found was to walk in with a part number, since most Rat Shack employees wouldn't know what was in that 9 foot cardboard tube.

Just ask them if they have part number 21-903 in stock. That's the p/n for the antenna.

While you're at it get the pot belly spring and mount to go with it. Yes you need them. The antenna needs to be 108 inches total to work right. I know. I tried sans spring, sent my SWR's up up up.....not to mention if you hit something w/o the mount and spring you're gonna have problems.

HTH.

Where are you located? We have them in our shop here in Missouri, it is by far the best seller we have, we have Hustler whips and ball mount and spring combos. And coax and we install.

if you go to the radio shack website and look up the 102, you can order it there if you really want, or it will also tell you which of the stores around you have it in stock. and then if it says instock, you go in and tell them you know they have it, hand them the part number. i know alot of cb shops carry the 102, i would think most of them do down in tx. or just check out some of the sponsors pages here. if you want the 108 so you dont have to worry about adding in a spring or extension to add the 6 inches onto the 102 someone said that mfj sells them on their site.
It is NOW a SWP and 10K world.

ok finally i have got a 102 inch this past weekend i went to the local rat shacks around town and to come to surprise none of them had one they said that they dont carry them around here because people didnt buy any so they ship they either back to the warhouse or to another ratshack that needs them. But anyways i called up a friend to ask him if there was anybody else that has them and to my surprise he said that he had an extra one and because i have done so work for him on his cb and his truck he said just to come pick it up from him. When i get there he actually had the spring too. YEA i got one now, now does anyone have an idear to make a tri mag or can i just use to of them?

The price of steel and copper must have drove these up.

Tri-mags are $50 plus shipping.

Let me know.

I like my trimag. I have a Workman Launchpad. It's a tri mag with a removable center stud. The stock stud was kinda cheap so I replaced it with a Wilson Stainless Steel stud. The coax is replacable as needed. Watch out for some mag mounts because some have the coax built in, and it's usually something cheap like RG58. You can also buy kits to make your own mag mount and add as many magnets as you want.

Check out our sponsors...quite a few of them sell mag mounts. Be sure to tell then you are a CBRT member.
