tubes are not lighting up nor is the meter on the front of the unit however the fan is operating
What should I be looking for ??

Can't answer the tech stuff but do know they are dangerous as far as the capacitors being hot! check some other posts and be careful before you even take the cover off!

Do you have the seperate power supply for it? It is two piece amplifier.

Check to see if your getting filament voltage to the tubes. Check the secondary filament winding on the power transformer should be the two green wires. With a volt meter set for AC voltage reading it should read about 12-14 volts. Also check for a bad wiring connection between the power supply and the amplifier.
