Welcome on the CBRT Forum here Leiffi it's a great place to meet like-minded people and there's plenty of good information here.

Do you speak Finnish or Swedish------or both? Any country with a cross on it's flag is good with me. Finland looks very cold and quiet.

LÄLLÄRI ? That is CB ? What type of CB frequencies are you using over there in Finland? Also-----AM or FM ? What brands of radio's or amplifiers are you using ? What radios are most popular in Finland? I'm always wondering what type of CB radio hear others across the globe are using.

I speak Finnish of course  LÄLLÄRI is our nickname for cb.. The correct name is LyhytAaltoradio as = LA (short waves radio).. and LA comes LÄLLÄRI :)

The channel frequensies are in Finland:
Kanava(channel) Taajuus(freq) (Mhz)
1. 26.965
2. 26.975
3. 26.985
4. 27.005
5. 27.015
6. 27.025
7. 27.035
8. 27.055

37. 27.375
38. 27.385
39. 27.395
40. 27.405

Legal power 5 watts FM, 4watts AM

As you can see we don`t have legal "long five" 27.555 but we use it anyway :D

99% of cb:ers are on FM freq.. Trucks are on 19AM.. Call channels are 7FM, 20FM, 31FM depending where you are.. 31 used south and 7 on North (lapland). Sometimes 35 SSB..

We use so much different types of radios.. But the "hardcore" machines are :
President
Zodiac
Danita
Maas
Midland
Albrecht etc..

Oldies but goldies like : Amecom, Super Tomcat, Major are on active use too..
We use lot of 80`s stuff still on active duty :) I put pics of our equipments as soon as i can.. They are European sold so they are new to you guys.. i own Maas Night Talker Ma-1000 what is pretty rare around here.. It`s 120ch AM/FM machine, based on Texas Ranger 127 but modified on Europe sold... We have 40 legal channels only but the Night Talker can go easily upper and lower.. Most sold amplifiers here are ZETAGI and RM ITALY..

Do you guys use eQso??

Leiffi nice rundown on how your cb operations are setup over there very informative. As far as eQso or Echolink we use that on the Amatuer repeaters over here also IRLP.

We also use PMR radios for communicate..

They work on 446 mhz and use only 500mw of power.. we have eQso repeaters for PMR so we talk with those all round our country..

I actually don`t know do you guys have PMR:s  ?

Hey ok I thought that many people in Finland also speak Swedish maybe. Yeah that's cool I like to hear as much as possible about foreign made CB radio equipment not typically seen here in the United States ! Some of the most popular older "classic radios" of your past too. Write what you can about the best of your radios over there.

Yes I read quite a bit the last couple of nights about the Zegati amplifiers and RM Italy amplifiers and I posted as many as possible on a thread titled "Amp Builder History ?"
[Please login or register to view this link]
Perhaps there are some custom amp builders in your country or in Europe that I haven't yet listed there? Please let me know if there are models (new or old) I haven't included ?

I'm not sure about the "PRS" radio system you are referring to. Here, aside from the unlicensed service of the former Amateur 11M segment, now the CB (Citizens Band) 40-Channels AM & SSB 26.965MHz-27.405MHz

We also have the unlicensed low-power FRS (Family Radio Service) UHF (14 channels total) 462.5625MHz-467.7125MHz

Then there is the licensed higher-power GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) which includes the FRS channels as well as 8 additional channels (22 channels total) in nearly the same UHF frequency range 462.5625MHz-467.7250MHz.

Of course we naturaly have the Amateur Radio Service (Ham Radio).

Here are the two official flags of the State of New Jersey where I live:

What we have that is similar to PMR is GMRS General Mobile Radio Service on UHF where repeaters are allowed and up to 50 watts output but eQso or IRLP is what we call it here is not allowed to be used on them also a license is required. We also have FRS Family Radio Service on UHF a low powered 500mw HT or Walkie Talkie type service and no license is required. Also MURS Multi Use Radio Service 2 watts on VHF which is similar to FRS.

Well, we have "second language" Sweden.. So you are right.. Some % if our population speaks also Swedish but not many % after all..

We don`t have so much amplifier builders because the CB is strictly supervised in here... Only the Italians just like Zetagi and RM Italy makes amplifiers to sell... And of course connecting an amplifier is illegal.. Ham Master is also one of the products i have seen around here..

The PMR446 radios are "second cb" to us.. Used as hunting, working etc etc because of the very very small size of the radios.. Not so long connections but an hobby as cb too :) They work on UHF 446 mhz.. have 8 main channels anr every main channel is 38 side channels.. So i can go example main channel 7 and side channel 20.. So im in channel 7/20....

The PMR main channel Freq:s are:
Kanava(channel) Taajuus(freg) (Mhz)
1. 446.00625
2. 446.01875
3. 446.03125
4. 446.04375
5. 446.05625
6. 446.06875
7. 446.08125
8. 446.09375

The CB an the PMR:s are FREE for all.. No need for any license etc.. Of course we have ham:s but they need the ham (RA in finland) license...

Hi Leiffi

We have a lot of the same radio's here in the Netherlands, but also have legal usb/lsb on the 40marc channels .
The pmr radio is for most used here as baby-phone and used by kids :x , but there are here also some frn station's (something like eQso ) .I have programmed the PMR freq in my ft897 ,but for 99% of the time its nothing or rubbish on that band.
How is with pirate radio there in the north?
We have here pirates on the 3m,48m and freebanders on the 11m,45m,85m,lpd and etc

All this time i have been planning an mobile QTH and finally some years back the Finnish Defence Forces had an auction with old airplane command rv:s.. So i bought myself one and converted it to mobile ham shack !

I have builded it that it has normal camping equipment like gas stove and refrigerator etc but also it has place to sleep and radio corner. On front it has 8 meters (26ft) mast which stands alone and 3 aerials on roof. Also room for expand more :D
