Just wondering linearone..."What kind of gas mileage you get on that truck?" 5 gallons per mile?
I know when I went to just a Dual Alternator set-up on my Suburban, it was like having the AC unit on year round...

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

the video thats posted above is not my truck, that is miami suburban. My truck is the dirty grey suburban with the 5 alts. I get about 9-12 mpg now in mine, I never really clocked it to be honest, just an assumption. I have a 41 gallon tank so I tend to not watch too close. I also barely ever drive it. The reason your mileage goes down is the rotational mass. With 5 big case leeces there is a lot of stuff turning, heavy stuff. If you buy the new style smaller alts you can have less mass and equal power,
fatboy was selling 300 amp alts that were in a 3g ford case. expensive but compact and less mass to spin, good idea for the mileage concerned. Plus the engine would probably get better mileage if it didnt have 170,000 miles.
