Value of a tower?
Sixty feet of the lighter weight Rohn and an old four element beam. The beam seems to have had a reflector on the back but I am not sure. I have to take it down and it is at an abandoned home? The owner just told me to make an offer. Any ideas?

I've always hated deals like that...where you need to "make an offer". I'm always afraid I'll offer too much and could have gotten it a lot cheaper.
But...I looked on Craigslist the other day and seen a 75 foot crank up tower for sale in Harrison Ar. for 75$. Myself, I'd offer 50 bucks since you have to take it down. Dunno...maybe too much......but that's what I would offer for it. As soon as I get some money ratholed, I'm getting one.

I'd say $75 if it comes with the beam, and 50 if it doesnt. If they want more, then bargain a little...figure in your labor and the "chance of injury" from falling from the tower lol...just work it like that lol

I would say free you have to do the work of getting it down you might need to rent a crane to get it down. If they want some $$$ tell them to take it down and then you will pay for it to get it off there land.
I agree. IF you have to disassemble, then free. If it's on the ground, $20 per 10ft section.f-250ford wrote:I would say free you have to do the work of getting it down you might need to rent a crane to get it down. I don't enjoy 'bargaining'. I'd offer what the thing was worth to me. If that doesn't satisfy the seller, then say thanks anyway and leave (also leave your phone number
). If the seller takes your offer, and you later find out that others have gotten a tower cheaper, then so what? You offered what it was worth to you, didn't you?

All that assumes that you've looked the thing over pretty good! Typically, it's the little things that bite you, not the big ones.

OK found 100 feet on the ground with guy lines and all? What's it worth a section? Anybody in S GA need half?
If it's Rohn 25G style, it's worth $20-25 per 10 ft section locally. If it's heavier duty like the 45G then the price goes up to $40 per section.
Tower is plentiful here however. No cable tv in Kentucky = tons of towers. I'm in TN, but only about 20 miles from the KY border at work, and 2 miles at home.
Different areas probably have different price and demand.
