jeep cherokee extra alternator?

anyone ever mount an extra alternator in a jeep cherokee 4.0? i would like to add a 270amp leese but not sure the best place to mount it or if its possiable. thanks

I seen a extra alt on a jeep cherokee twice before didnt look too hard. passenger side if i remember.

If you dont have A/C, you can fab up an easy mount to put it there.

I got licky my a/c didnt work so I mounted mine where the compressor was it almost even took the same belt had to do a little fabracation but works great. Wrong Way.

Hey mudduckkiller---- I have an '07 Grand Cherokee and am putting 2 extra for now but my bracket I'm waiting on will have a spot for a 4th(3rd extra) as well which I will be adding when I upgrade eventually to a bigger box down the road. I didnt have any local shadetrees do it because the alternators have to be reverse mounted to fit em so they have to put bi-directional cooling fans on them but they were able to do it no prob. They also work hand in hand with a company that does fabrication of a lot of the baja 1000 trophy trucks suspension parts so they have a sick CAD program to test the part designs. I went through a company in Utah called Rush Power Systems. In all theyre sending me a 300 amp, a 250 amp and the bracket with variable voltage regulators for each which they call dial-a-volts. Call em up tell em Jimmy from NY told you about em (I dont get a thing just told em I would spread the word about them). They've been in business for 25 years and are great to deal with. good luck

Also they build all their own alternators in house and will build them exactly to do what you want em to do at what rpm's you wanna do it at. Sorry bout the double post
