what is negative gain?
some one on the air told me that it sounded like i have a negative gain. what does that mean?

If a radio is overmodulated or an amplifier is overdriven, a receiver "S" meter will actually indicate power reducing during modulation. Usually caused by an abundance of harmonics. This is usually called "reverse modulation" but could be interpreted as "negative gain".
What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
