I need to pull off my dash.

Instead of running screws through my dash, I'd like to pull my dash and mount the CB with a mount kit. Anyone know where to get instructions for this? First rice burner I ever owned too. Damn Toyota.

Instructions to pull your dash? I chilton's or hane's manual? Look up a Toyota forum. I'm sure they would have a write up on it.

You wouldn't want to pull the dash. That's just asking for a lifetime of rattles, squeaks, and other possible issues unless you're experienced at that kinda work. Even if you are, it is a lot of work to just get a radio mounted, not to mention warranty issues if the vehicle is newer. Throw out the model, the radio, and year information and maybe someone else on here has been down this road. Bump on this so maybe some of our members that are installers may offer a solution.

drdx is right. you are gonna break clips and all sorts of stuff just to mount a CB. There are many alternatives to mounting one short of dismantling your car. Show us a pic of the interior and like drdx said make, model and year and we will help with mounting solutions.

How about that tray in the dash in front of the shifter? Close to being the right dimensions? Height and width mainly, the depth can be 'played with.

By all means... Get carried away..

Ok. How long are you planning on keeping the truck? Are you opposed to trimming pieces? Having worked for a dealership.. Some of those trim pieces are pricey. If you do decide to trim something, I would advise to call the dealer and ask for the cost of a replacement part. If you decide to change something or if you sell the truck it can help with resale instead of having a cut out part. However, if you drill holes.. a couple. There are ways to fix those without anyone noticing.. Someone can probably do it for around $20 or so too..

I have a dash like that in my wifes car. I would mount it off to the right of the center console. It would be next to a passengers leg but, would still leave enough room.

I would like to mount it somehow in that slot in front of the shifter but the Midland is small for that space.

Too small for the space is a LOT better than too big for it! If you meant the tray in the dash, make a faceplate to go around the radio that fits the opening. If you mean the tray on the console in front of the shifter, and if I remember correctly, that 'rubber' lining pulls out. Design/build a mount to 'fit' the space. I think the floor is just a bit too far away for convenience, but that's up to you.

Thanks Doc. I'm thinking about it. And did I say Toyota? My mind must have been somewhere else. It's a 2007 Nissan Fronteriariceburnerthing.
