Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD

Hello gang: Run radios in the "work" trucks, but never had one in my personal vehicle. I have a 2002 Silverado. Where in the *ell would i install a radio. In front of the seat against the cup holders looks appealing, but my pooch rides with me alot and i have visions of 85 pound dog standing on the radio.
I havent figured any other place that is easy to install and conveneint to use once there. I dont even care if the install is a pita but i want it to look good and be easy and comfortable to use... Looking for Silverado owners thoughts and ideas

Hey man. i got a 2001 silverado regular cab. i have my cobra 29 mounted under where my cig outlet setup is. its a flat surface there and i drilled the 2 screws into it to hold the mounting bracket in place that came with the radio. in your truck that panel may flip down im not sure, but in mine it dont. so it was the perfect place for me. only problem is if somebody sits in the middle ( bench seat) there knees will get in the radio some. but anyways, if u dont mind drilling 2 small holes thats the place to put it. it looks like its hanging there under the dash and its easy to reach. its easy to run your coax and other things to it and not be in the way. good luck brother

I'm not familiar with that 2500HD, but I do have a Silverado. One thing to think about is if there's a storage slot/hole under the truck's radio. Will your CB radio fit in it? Close to fitting in it? Mind spending some money on dash trim/panels? Cut that 'slot' out and make the radio fit it. I came very close to doing that but changed radios and didn't have to. Just an idea.
