PA speakers
PA speakers
Does anyone have any suggestions on a pa speaker what ones are the best for a good price.
I am gona talk from back in the day ! A pa speaker is an exterior type speaker. Mose are hornes designed for that use. Rat Shack used to have a selection that was good. Most didnt have great sound but you had to hide um under the hood somewhere anyway. As a teenager and young adult I got into enough trouble with um to not want um anymore.
Hey crazymike you might want to check out GI Joes ....He has a P.A. Speaker listed , It might be what you are looking for

You also might want to check with Radio Active, He runs a top notch shop and could hook you up with anything you need [Please login or register to view this link]
Hope this helps ya :Peace!:

Speaking of "Back in the day!"In the latter '70s I owned a '72 Plymouth Fury II. The thing was dark brown & was in fact a retired detectives car from the Marshall TX P.D., so it looked the part. In Marshall there was a row of 2 story duplexes that was a big haven for Mexican illegals. I had a Cobra radio & a PA speaker under the hood. I had also acquired one of those bubble lights that go on the dash! One night at 2 am I was haulin hiney down that road, did a power slide into the parking lot hollerin to high heaven on the PA: IMMIGRATION!!! IMMIGRATION!!!!! It was hilarious to watch 'em come flying out of every imaginable hole in a house you could think of! I swear one came off the roof! Don't know if he was already up there or if he came out a vent pipe! LOL! But could you see doing that these days? They prolly would all come out the front door shooting! Later on I did get that PA speaker & bubble light confiscated. I pulled over my Girlfriends Daddy as a joke. Needless to say, he had less of a sense of humor than I gave him credit for! (I didn't know he was a former Sheriffs Deputy!) LOL!
I wonder if a speaker that is used for a siren when would work?Phaze91460 wrote:You dont really want a fancy one cuz the moisture and heat will kill um. Need to be able to replace cheep when needed.
I am not sure because most siren have 100W audio output and most CB radios have like 8 or 12 W output on the PA jack
It might not have enough power to drive the speaker, but I am sure it would hold up to the heat and moisture
