The largest transmitting tube I've ever heard of was used by a Mexican broadcast station some time ago. It was literally a metal compartment with a vacuum proof hatch which you -walked- through to adjust/replace the tube's elements. It's been way too long ago for me to remember anything about the station, tube, manufacturer, etc. No, I didn't physically see it, it was just pictures. It was in use in the 1950's - 60's to the best of my knowledge. That was one huge thingy!

I remember years ago I saw something about a OMEGA Station or something Like that
used for VLF communicating with submarines that used a tube that was like
five or six foot high and round enough that you could crawl inside it to either
fix on the thing or replace all the internals in it....
I remember it ran a lot of power (in the multi-megawatt range) and it was
for VLF LORAN or some damn thing like that.

this may not be the biggest , but do a search on WLW cincinati ohio . they had 500 kw rms and claims of well over megawatt peaks . very interesting reading if you havent found it already .
