Do you maybe have a short between ground and center? Was the setup fine with low swr on the same mount with another antenna? The 10k is easy to tune. I have 3 variations of it and they all fall to low swr usually after just 1 or 2 adjustments. Where is it mounted, is any part of the antenna close to vehicle metal, or is it all out in the open? Is it the single coil, the compromise coil, or a dual coil? My regular single coil tunes at like 6.5 feet and my comp coil is a little shorter and yes, the stinger has massive adjustability inside the top of there.
Tell us more about the mount and mounting location.

somehwrre i have pics of the mount on here. its a trimagnet mount on the rear deck (trunk) close to the window. has exactly 18 feet of coax. the ground cable is what made the 102" swr 1.0 so i removed the 102" added the predetor 10k witch is (9 inches?) SINGLE coil ......im gunna go ahaid and install the Galaxy im removing the old radio as we speek. it cannot go on the roof so that is not an option my roof is not flat lol

On a trimag, you can space the plate with 3/8 1 inch rod coupling nuts and bend the mount to fit a curved roof, but keeping it on the deck lid, try to get it as far away from obstruction as possible. Sometimes a 9 inch shaft is harder to tune for some reason for some, but on my puck my 9 inch one is fine. The length of the coax is meaningless, just use the length it takes to get from the mount to the radio. The radio being used won't change the swr but if you're using a meter inside a radio it may look different. Those meters inside the radio aren't always the best, especially if the radio has been modified. For a 9 inch shaft, it will depend on the coil you have as far as how tall it will tune. If it has like 7-8 turns it is a comp coil and till tune at 6 ft or under I'd guess. If it has less turns and has the wiggly stinger, then expect it to be as tall as 7 feet to get tuned in.

The problem is the trunk mount and shaft length combination.

On trunk mounts you need to have the coil above the roof line.

Well, and I'm sure you know this, make sure you're checking it out in the open, away from trees and light poles, and with all of the doors shut. Like mojo said, I bet you have a coil/vehicle body issue.
