Im looking at a Browning Mark III , Its in perfect working order was checked out at a CB shop comes with D-104 SSb and Squeel works they said ,looks to be in great condition. What else should i ask them about this unit? Troubles to look for? Thanx.

Well the Mark III really were in my opinion the best Browning every built.And as far As I know they really didn't have any known problems,unlike the early Mark IV's which had PLL problems.As with any tube rig thats over 30 years old it's a roll of the dice unless you are sure the radio has been gone though and all the electro caps have been replaced and known bad parts as well as tubes replaced.Fire it up let it sit at least 30 minutes.Alot of problems with tube rigs will not show up untill the rig has reached temp.Get it on the air and see what you think.If all seems well than have at it.Like I said,buying any radio not just a tube rig that is that old is rolling the dice unless you know for sure it has been gone though.Good luck and let the birds ping!
