Installing my new radio

#293636

Post by boomer58 »

Ymidnight and Tobin - Thanks for your replies. I didn't mean to post it twice but I know about as much about computers as I do about CB radios and that isn't alot. I put the radio in the truck but did not have time to fool with the SWR . I was getting a lot of engine noise when I ran up to the store so I turned it off and hopefully will get to it on Sat. or Mon. That thing called a job seems to get in the way of the things I want to be doing. Thanks again for the advice, I'll let you know how I make out, Ed.

Congrats' boomer. No worries on the double post...most all of us have done it before. I simply merged the posts and deleted the double post for you. For those who are wondering, he's talking about THIS thread.

As far as the noise goes, I too am one that prefers wiring directly to the battery. But as mentioned, not everyone does. Some have problems some don't. But if I may suggest, get the antenna tuned before you go chasing the engine noise and re-wiring anything. That alone might help some in reducing the engine noise.

Best of luck.

Glad you got the install done. Take your time with it and you will get it figured out. When the istall is done... take pictures and post.
