How much difference?

If you call and order an amp, say 2 pill for competition keydowns how much difference internally is there? I assume bigger fan, heatsink, etc. but what else?

If it is made specifically for keydowns, you may find more capacitance (large caps) on the + rail.
It also is assumed that you will be running higher voltage. If that's not true, there's no advantage.
Now if you go 4 pill or bigger, then there is a difference in average output between amps that
have the pills tuned in fours vs. those tuned in twos. Not higher pep, but higher average. The
higher avg. amp will drop the maul on the other amp. Again...unless you have a competition setup
and an alternator(s) that will provide higher voltage, there isn't much benefit in spending the extra
$$$$

Sounds like the alternator(s) set up is an extra expense.

no since in getting a bigger amp than you can supply power to, plus the reserve to operate the vehicle acc or what have you
